I have to do a romeo and juliet project that relates to costumes that they might wear during the play and how those costumes affect the theatre. So, I picked a costume book and I have to draw costumes for some characters. Since I am bad at drawing I am doing it in photoshop. If anyone can help me it would be AMAZING! I need websites and or pictures where I can find pictures and those descriptions for the costumes. I am making this in a Renaissance setting.
Description – The setting of the play is fourteenth-century Italy, but actors in Shakespeare’s time would have worn Elizabethan costumes. Make a costume book for the actors of Romeo and Juliet by drawing a minimum of one authentic costume for Romeo, Juliet, Mercutio, Prince Escalus, Nurse, Friar Laurence, Lord Capulet, Lord Montague, Lady Capulet, and Lady Montague. Label each costume according to the character, act, and scene. In the costume book, include a one-paragraph caption explaining each costume. In a 500-750 word descriptive essay, explain Elizabethan costumes and their use in the theater.
So if you guys could give me any information regarding the costumes or the essays it would be great. THanks in advance.
I want to buy a costume for the Renaissance festival that is truly authentic. I considered buying a costume at the festival, a corset and top, perhaps a pirate hat, and a parasol. However, I have been looking around online, and I am considering buying an authentic costume online. What do you think is best? I want a true corset, not the fake ones, and I know they sell them at the festival, but I have also seen them online. What do you think is the best idea to save money? Buy online or buy at the festival?
I want a corset, a chemise, and either pirate pants or a wench/pirate skirt, and perhaps a pirate hat (which I will probably get online). I already have two pairs of boots I can wear, and a flowered hair piece. And I can make a skirt pretty easily if I really wanted to.
I did find this website:
http://www.pearsonsrenaissanceshoppe.com/
but the only true corset they have is this one:
http://www.pearsonsrenaissanceshoppe.com/canvas-corset.html
And I really wanted one of these outfits:
http://www.pearsonsrenaissanceshoppe.com/dutchess-onyx-set.html
http://www.pearsonsrenaissanceshoppe.com/countess-rose-set.html
http://www.pearsonsrenaissanceshoppe.com/pirate-queen-set.html
But they’re not true corsets…. Do you think that matters? Will it be close enough?
Merci!
