My friend and I (both 17) have decided that we want to go out and have fun (and get free candy) this year. We are planning on going out Trick or Treating, and we want our costumes to be theme costumes.
Some of our ideas are:
1. John McCain and Sarah Palin
2. Renaissance King (or Knight) and Queen (or Princess)
3. Cows
4. Old Man and Woman
5. Huck Finn and Aunt Polly (in modern day, but dressed as in the book; basically the old people costume with a twist)
6. Priest and Nun
7. Manager at a local bookstore and manager at a local grocery store ("Steve and Louann") [Personally frightening]
I am on a budget, and I don’t have anything for any costumes right now, so I would love suggestions on how to make these costumes inexpensively or ideas for other inexpensive costumes. Thank’s a bunch!
I’m looking for an authentic tricorn hat for the Renaissance faire next year. Preferably black or brown worn leather. I don’t want a costume hat or anything that looks fake. My budget is about . I’m willing to spend a little more, and anything less would be great.

What I am looking for is a fairy dress to wear to a Renaissance faire (something similar to what my avatar is wearing). I did a web search, but I keep finding the same dresses/costumes on every site. They are either slutty, or cheaply made (and it shows) or well constructed, but outrageously priced. There is also a profusion of Tinkerbell costumes, which is not what I am looking for. I want something that looks like something a real fairy would wear (if fairies were real) and will not break my budget. Also, it would be helpful if the site accepts Paypal. If anyone has any information that will help me, I would greatly appreciate it.
My boyfriend and I would like to do a couple’s costume for halloween this year, but we’re having trouble finding something that’s appealing for both of us and would also be recognizable. We have a very small budget, and he’s not the type to go all out on a costume, so something subtle, that he could wear some of his own clothes for would be good. I on the other hand like to go crazy and look super hot. I would love some ideas of like, famous couples, or something fun and cute. We had originally thought of being the couple in the "War’s End Kiss" picture, but were worried that if we didn’t pose, no one would get it. We also considered John Lennon and Yoko Ono, but I want to look cute, not strange. Any help would be much appreciated.
We are getting married at the 2011 Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival August 27, 2011. We are excited to hold both our wedding and our reception there. We don’t have to worry about decorating the quaint chapel, but we do need to decorate for the reception.
The reception will be held outside in their reception area. The area will be covered by a pavillion. The tables will be picnic tables. They decorate the head table for us using multicolored materials. That leaves me needing to decorate about 9 tables. 7 for our guests to be seated at and 1 for gifts and 1 for the guest book, etc.
We will all be in Renaissance costumes.
I am not sure on the colors or materials for the head table. It is multicolored. I can changed that too. I don’t have to use their decor for the head table.
The colors I am using in my wedding are Ivory, light blue, gold accents, black and brown.
guess I should state that my wedding is during the day. I was thinking that candles wouldn’t exactly work. The ceremony is at noon and the reception follows the ceremony. I wasn’t sure about purchasing linens. It is a casual ceremony.
What is the normal size for a picnic table? Does anyone have any decor ideas? We are needing ideas for those on a "small budget"!
I really want a hilarious costume idea that i can make. I dont really care how stupid i look, as long as i can create it on a budget. But i dont want anything that requires a cardboard box or something that encloses my whole body cuz i dont want to be hot. My college recently decided they don’t have the budget to help with this event, but a group of my friends would really like to put it on. Originally the plan was to have teenagers in costumes chaperon a group of 20-30 kids trick or treating. Without the schools help, how do we advertise doing this since we are very interested in still putting this on for the community?
This Sunday I will be attending a local renaissance festival with a few of my friends, and I am certainly excited about it. There are actors who refuse to leave character and myriads of activities to suit all tastes (all of course dealing with anything medieval). The only problem is that I do not have a costume. Medieval attire is not necessary, however, this year, I would like to dress the part. Can anyone think of a costume I can create on a very small budget (I am a college student and would prefer to spend my change at the fair itself and not on my attire for the day)? Or a costume I might be able to make out of existing commonplace pieces in my wardrobe? I’m not looking for anything extravagant, but any ideas?
