I will be applying for colleges in less than a year. I love making and studying costumes, particularly of the Medieval, Renaissance, and Victorian eras.
I have considered majoring in general fashion, but I hold New York and LA runways in such low esteem, I do not wish to be a part of the fads or debasing immodesty they profess. I wish to study historic costumes and how they tied in with society, and I am considering a field in stage costume design, consulting, or starting my own costume shop.
The problem I have is:
I want to go to college in the Midwest. I live in Missouri, and I would prefer to attend college rather close to my family. Can anyone give me advice on the best college(s)/course(s)?
