Hey! I know it is a little early for Hallowe’en, but I like to get a head start on costume ideas.
A friend of mine is planning on having an 80’s theme Hallowe’en party and I gotta find a costume. A couple friends and I have started thinking about going like an 80’s aerobics chick. You know, the Jane Fonda look, with the bright thong leotard, leggings, headband, legwarmers, big hair, etc. What do you guys think? Or is that too risque with the thong leotard (although I don’t mind attracting attention from the males…:) ? It does sum up 80’s tackiness!
Next question is, anyone know where I can find an 80’s thong leotard?!? Which colors would be best?
Or let me know if you have other ideas – I still have a couple weeks…
I was thinking for Halloween, me and my 5 friends could be things from Harry Potter. I thought that 4 of us could be each of the Houses, like with the colors and mascot and everything. I’m not sure about the other 2 though. Maybe one could be Bellatrix?
PS. We’re all girls…
I am trying to put together a renaissance costume and can’t decide what colors to use. I have a brown shirt (chemise), a dark purple/plum vest (bodice), and I need to decide on a skirt color, choosing from among hunter green, navy blue, dark wine red, and muddy brown.
–I kind of like the red, but I’m afraid red and purple together will look too much like I’m trying to put on royalty colors.
–My question about the navy blue is whether I ought to put a "cool" tone color blue with a "warm" tone color purple.
–The issue with the green is that it won’t coordinate well with my other costume pieces for future mix-and-matching, and I don’t know if green and purple are supposed to go together
–I’m afraid brown will look too dull and pauper-like, plus I’m not sure that it’s the same brown as the shirt.
Please let me know what you think! Thank you!
We are getting married at the 2011 Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival August 27, 2011. We are excited to hold both our wedding and our reception there. We don’t have to worry about decorating the quaint chapel, but we do need to decorate for the reception.
The reception will be held outside in their reception area. The area will be covered by a pavillion. The tables will be picnic tables. They decorate the head table for us using multicolored materials. That leaves me needing to decorate about 9 tables. 7 for our guests to be seated at and 1 for gifts and 1 for the guest book, etc.
We will all be in Renaissance costumes.
I am not sure on the colors or materials for the head table. It is multicolored. I can changed that too. I don’t have to use their decor for the head table.
The colors I am using in my wedding are Ivory, light blue, gold accents, black and brown.
guess I should state that my wedding is during the day. I was thinking that candles wouldn’t exactly work. The ceremony is at noon and the reception follows the ceremony. I wasn’t sure about purchasing linens. It is a casual ceremony.
What is the normal size for a picnic table? Does anyone have any decor ideas? We are needing ideas for those on a "small budget"!
Trying too find costume ideas for a group of 10 girls for our sports carnival. But we are all in different colored house groups/teams.
There are 3 girls who need too dress in orange, 3 in blue, 2 in green, 1 in red and one in silver. Want a group costume that will work too fit us all in.
Don’t want too buy costumes.
Please help!
some ideas we liked so far are a fruit salad with a fork (for the girl in silver) or a crazy cat lady (again silver) and the rest of us as different colored cats (ears, painted noses and whiskers and tails all in our own colors)
No ideas are silly!
but do prefer "non-slutty" idea!
THANK U!
Ive never been to a ren-faire but have always wanted to go to one. I haven’t though yet because i haven’t gotten a costume. I understand it’s not mandatory to dress up but if I do something Id prefer to go all out! Im not sure what guild I would represent, whether it be wench or pirate or elf, but someone told me that I need to know the rules of the guild. (I didn’t know there were rules) This kinda makes me want to go even more. ONE PROBLEM: I cannot find rules for the guilds anywhere! So first question is: Where can I find the rules? Second question: Is there a list of things I can be? like for example: orc, fairy, elf, wench or is it just low class, middle class, upper class? Third question: Where can I find the clothes for this? Every time I google this stuff I get halloween slut costumes with outrageous colors.
I know this question has been asked a BILLION times but I’m taking the gamble nonetheless. I’m stumped! Okay, 2 males & 3 females all in their mid-twenties. HUGE adult Halloween costume party coming up & the group of 5 would like to knock everyone’s socks off! Nothing that’s been overdone & nothing that is too far-fetched. The 2 males would like to be the same thing yet have some minor differences (i.e. colors) and the same thing goes for the 3 females as well. All five included in the group are attractive and in excellent physical shape so they would like to use that to their advantage WITHOUT crossing the line of indecency. Something hot, fresh, young, sexy, & complimentive of one another. I’m asking waaaaaaaaay too much, aren’t I??? lol. Anyway, it’s worth a shot. ANY answer to my overly detailed question will be GREATLY appreciated!!! ;]
I’ve been searching around for some ribbon and some fringe that will work with my costume. I’ve already got the bodice made and close to finished beading. What I’m looking for is some ribbon for a skirt I’m making out of yellow peach/orange and a silvery green fabric. They’re vertical stripes and I’m looking for some ribbon that has those colors and an almost maroon red color to cover up the seams. I’m also looking for most of those colors in a fringe for around the brown overskirt I’m making. I’m just wondering if anyone has some ideas on websites I should check out. thanks bye
This year I am going to the Renaissance Faire with my school! YAY! We have to wear costume, so far I have collected a tan dress. The texture of the dress is a bit like soft burlap, however, I am not sure what to wear with it. I know that I would like a bodice (isn’t that what they called the small vest-like apparel that they wear over the dress?)
but I am not sure what colors were available to the lower class during the Renaissance, so I am not sure what color or texture of fabric to make that out of. Also, I need shoes, but I am a vegetarian and I would really prefer not to have to wear leather. If anyone can help, I’d be very appreciative!
Oh, and if it helps, I am tall (like 5 feet… and 3-4 inches?) and skinny, (only 100 pounds) I have long brown hair, so maybe hairstyles too, if you have any recommendations
Also, I don’t want to buy anything from a costume store or website. I prefer to go to Goodwill and look for things there. I am willing to buy fabric, etc., though.
Sorry that was so long
I’m in a magic show at a renaissance faire. myself and another person are "assistants" and I want to make a new costume so I can wear a different one each day. The one I have now is light purple with a white underskirt and a floral bodice. So I want new colors but I don’t know which ones!!!
the other assistant has a navy blue over skirt and a lighter one underneath with a burgundy bodice. I want to know what colors I could use for my new costume that would look good and compliment hers, without looking too similar!!! any tips welcome!!!! thanks!
