I don’t know where else to ask this but here..
I am looking to buy a bow online for a renaissance fantasy archer costume, but I know very little about REAL bows and I need some help. Also, if this helps, the bow will never be used for hunting and doesn’t have to be functional. It just has to look good for a costume.
1. What is the right size bow for me if I am a female with a height of 60”? I see that a lot of bows are 60” and it seems silly to be carrying around a bow as tall as I am..
2. What is a good material for the bow if I am looking for something pretty lightweight to carry around for hours at a time?
3. Is there any way to hold the bow on your person without carrying it in your hands? Perhaps some kind of strap?

The dress has a royal purple skirt and a reversible top that is either black or gold and purple. I have been looking at capes from VonLancelot on Ebay. The name of his store is Cloak Company. He makes beautiful satin-lined moleskin cloaks. I am going to buy one, and have several picked out, but am not sure what color I can pair it with. The poodle skirt costume is traditional. The renaissance queen costume is blue velvet with gold french brocade on the front of the bodice and skirt and a satin undershirt. I like them both equally, but I can’t decide which one to wear. Please don’t tell me which ever one you want to wear cuz it makes it harder to decide! The renaissance costume would be a little more of a hassle cuz I’d have to carry the hoop slip and the skirt at the same time so the dress doesn’t drag on the ground when I walk. What do y’all think?

I love going to the Renaissance Festival in different costumes and this year I want to go as a awesome barbarian *I’m a girl, so it has to be for a girl* or a really fancy dress, like Elizabeth Swann’s, but not just like that dress. I’ve gone on ebay and tried to find barbarian costumes, but all I found were those stupid kiddish ones that were pink or un-renaissance. Any ideas? If you’ve gone to any renaissance activity and dressed up in a totally awesome outfit, where did you get your outfit? I see the guys at the ren fest with the armor with all the horns and stuff and the leather wings, the guys that work there, but where in the world do they get their outfits?! Please help!!!
